Chefchaouen, the Rif's 'blue city', is roughly 2 hours by road from Tangier — a day trip works, though staying a night gives a gentler rhythm. The blue-painted lanes, Uta el-Hammam square and the kasbah form the visit's core. We recommend either a private driver with a wait, or a shared grand taxi from Tangier early in the morning.
