Where to Stay in Morocco 2030
Hotels, riads, neighbourhoods and tips to choose your accommodation wisely.
Choosing accommodation is one of the most structuring decisions for a trip to Morocco. Between traditional riads nestled in the medinas and modern hotels in newer districts, each option offers a very different experience. As 2030 approaches, demand will be particularly high: booking early is essential.
Hotel or riad: what's the difference?
Riad: traditional house with inner patio, often in the medina. A few rooms, personalised service, intimate atmosphere. Not always car-accessible — arrange a transfer.
Hotel: standardised comfort, pool, gym, strong air conditioning, international dining. More practical for families or business stays.
Best neighbourhoods by city
Casablanca: Maârif, Gauthier, Aïn Diab Corniche.
Marrakech: medina (riads), Guéliz / Hivernage, Palmeraie.
Rabat: Hassan, Agdal, medina.
Tangier: medina/Kasbah, centre, Malabata, Marshan.
Casablanca: accommodation tips
For a short stay, prefer the centre or Maârif. For a beach feel, choose the Corniche. For business, Casa-Anfa and Sidi Maârouf concentrate international hotels.
Marrakech: accommodation tips
The medina has the finest riads but can be noisy. Guéliz is calmer and more practical. The Palmeraie is ideal for relaxation with pool. Book very early.
Rabat: accommodation tips
The offer is smaller than Marrakech but quality. Hassan and Agdal are safe bets. Some charming riads in the medina at softer prices.
Tangier: accommodation tips
Medina/Kasbah for charm and view of the strait. Modern centre for comfort. Malabata for seaside resorts.
