Itinerary · 7 days
7 days in Morocco around 2030: a realistic itinerary
Two main bases, fewer transfers and enough breathing room to enjoy the trip rather than spending every day in transit.
The overall idea
In seven days, keep the trip to two main bases. The final route will depend on match locations, but Casablanca/Rabat + Marrakech or Tangier/Rabat + Casablanca can combine football, culture and efficient transport without constant hotel changes.

Priority
Flexibility around matches
Option A: Casablanca + Marrakech
Days 1–3: arrive in Casablanca, choose a base with practical rail access and use one day for Casablanca or Rabat depending on your interests. If a fixture is in the Casablanca–Rabat area, this structure avoids moving bags every night.
Days 4–7: continue to Marrakech and stay there until departure. That leaves time for the medina, food and a flexible day around a potential match. If the return flight leaves from Marrakech, an open-jaw ticket removes the need to backtrack to Casablanca.
- Strong first-time route.
- Two contrasting environments: Atlantic metropolis then imperial city.
- Avoids adding long northern or Agadir detours to a short trip.
Option B: Tangier + Rabat/Casablanca
Days 1–3: start in Tangier if your flight or ferry works. It offers a different first impression of Morocco and places you directly on the Al Boraq high-speed corridor.
Days 4–7: move south to Rabat or Casablanca. You can use high-speed rail rather than an internal flight and still keep real buffer around a match.
What to avoid in seven days
Do not try to combine Tangier, Fes, Marrakech, Agadir and Casablanca in one week. It works on a map but check-out, transfer, waiting, check-in and recovery time quickly reduce the quality of the trip.
Also avoid a long inter-city transfer on the morning of a major match. A delay or queue can ruin a day you planned for months.
How to adapt when fixtures are known
Replace one of the two bases with the city that matches your ticket, but keep the low-transfer logic. If two fixtures are in cities with strong rail links, you may be able to keep the same hotel and make a day trip.
Always check the real station-to-stadium distance. Some venues are outside central districts, and the final leg can matter as much as the inter-city train.
Before locking the week
Choose no more than two main bases.
Check whether you can arrive and leave from different airports.
Keep at least half a day free of transfers around a match.
Choose accommodation near a useful station or transport axis.
Do not add a detour based only on a match rumour.
Keep flexible rates until detailed fixtures are official.
FAQ
Is seven days enough for Morocco?+
Yes, if you limit the number of cities. Two bases create a better balance than a rushed multi-stop circuit.
Can I include Agadir in one week?+
Yes if Agadir is one of the main bases, but adding it to an already busy circuit creates more transfer time because it is not directly on the national rail network.
Do I need a rental car?+
Not necessarily. Major rail corridors already support several routes, though a car can help for extensions beyond the network.
