A first major upgrade already delivered

TGCC describes work across sporting spaces, dressing rooms, mixed zone, media areas, pitch, seating and hospitality. The stadium has therefore already received substantial modernisation in the context of AFCON 2025 and 2030.

That does not mean the 2030 configuration is final: a second phase is planned.

Second phase toward 2030

TGCC states that a pre-2028 phase will increase capacity from 41,000 to 46,000 and provide full roofing. 2026 ANEP procurement also confirms ongoing upgrading.

Final operational capacity should be rechecked after completion.

Marrakech as a stay base

Marrakech has one of Morocco's deepest accommodation markets: riads, city hotels, resorts and apartments. For a match, do not choose only by medina proximity; compare real stadium travel time.

The city also remains attractive for several days without a ticket because of its concentration of sights, food and excursions.

Getting there on match day

Exact 2030 shuttles, traffic controls and drop-off arrangements are not published yet. Large peripheral venues often need a different strategy from a normal taxi ride.

Choose accommodation with easy access to major roads and leave a large buffer.
