First phase ready for major events

Official portal Maroc.ma reports that the first upgrade phase prepared the stadium for major events, including external works, ticketing, hospitality and facility improvements.

The venue can therefore operate while the longer 2030 programme continues.

Second phase: roof and capacity

Information from Maroc.ma and TGCC describes a second phase focused on full roofing and stand expansion toward about 46,000 seats. A 2026 ANEP tender specifically covers the roof and façade.

Final capacity should be rechecked after completion.

Agadir needs a different transport strategy

Unlike Tangier, Rabat or Casablanca, Agadir is not directly served by the national rail network. Travel from another city may involve flight, coach, car or a rail-plus-road combination.

That makes an overnight stay in Agadir safer than a very tight same-day return around a match.

Where to stay

Agadir has a large hotel and resort market, especially near the waterfront. For match travel, compare real road time to the stadium rather than beach distance alone.

Two or three nights can combine the event with a slower coastal stay.
