Musée de la Kasbah de Tanger
Former sultans' palace turned museum of Mediterranean cultures.
About
The Kasbah Museum occupies Dar el Makhzen, the former palace of Tangier's sultans built in the 17th century. Rooms trace Tangier's history from antiquity to today — Roman mosaics from Volubilis, Hispano-Moorish art, the 20th-century international period. The Andalusian inner garden is particularly peaceful. A good primer before losing yourself in the Kasbah's lanes.
