About
Open since 1949, Librairie des Colonnes is Tangier's literary landmark: Bowles, Genet, Tahar Ben Jelloun and Mohamed Choukri all passed through. It was taken over a few years ago by the Fondation Pierre Bergé — Yves Saint Laurent, restored, and now offers a strong French, Arabic, English and Spanish catalogue, with a regular events programme. A real bookshop, not a souvenir stall.
