Palais Amani, in the Blida quarter of the Fez medina, is an atypical riad — 1930s Art Deco rather than traditional, with a large courtyard-garden planted with orange trees and fountains. Around ten spacious suites, a hammam, a rooftop and a restaurant open to non-guests at lunch. A calm address, better suited to travellers wanting space than to those wanting a dense traditional-riad atmosphere.
