Coopérative des poteries de Fès — Aïn Nokbi
The potters' and zellige-makers' district on the medina outskirts.
About
The Aïn Nokbi district, a few kilometres from the Fez medina, gathers most traditional pottery and zellige workshops. A workshop visit shows the full chain: potter's wheel, wood-fired kiln, hand-cutting of zellige tesserae, reverse assembly. Most workshops welcome visitors with no obligation to buy; some sell to the public at fair prices.

Traveller tips
- ◆Take a taxi (15 min from the medina) — no convenient public transport.
- ◆Ask to see the zellige cutting, it's the most fascinating step.
- ◆Shipping is possible but expensive for larger pieces.
